What we found in your trade
Of 33 air conditioning companies we tested in Nairobi, 16 had no working website. This trade sits in the middle of the audit — about half are visible, which means being absent is noticed but being merely present is not enough.
These numbers come from the Nairobi Web Audit — 566 businesses tested in August 2026, method and limitations published in full. We don’t name the businesses.
Why it matters for air conditioning
Commercial buyers check before they procure
Offices, restaurants, clinics and hotels do not pick an HVAC contractor from a roadside sign. Facilities managers shortlist, compare and check credentials, and they do it online during working hours.
Servicing is the revenue nobody markets
Most companies present themselves as installers. The maintenance contract, filter changes and gas top-ups are steadier income and far cheaper to win from an existing enquiry. A site that sells servicing properly changes the mix of work you get.
Breakdowns are urgent searches
An air conditioner failing in an office in January is an emergency. Those searches convert immediately and go to whoever is visible and responsive.
What your site actually needs
Not a brochure. The specific things a customer in this trade looks for before they get in touch.
- Installation and servicing given equal weight
- Maintenance contracts with what each covers
- Domestic, office and commercial split out
- Brands you install and are certified for
- Emergency and breakdown response, with hours
Prices are the same as everywhere else on this site — KES 25,000, 45,000 or 75,000 to build, then a small monthly amount that keeps it online. The domain is registered in your name, not ours.
Things people ask before they hire us
Most of our work is commercial. Does a website help there?
More than for domestic, if anything. Facilities managers and procurement teams shortlist suppliers online and need to see credentials, certifications and comparable installations before inviting a quote. A site is often the only thing standing between you and being on that list.
Can we sell maintenance contracts from the site?
Yes, and it is the change we would push hardest. Setting out contract tiers, what each covers and roughly what they cost turns a one-off installation enquiry into a recurring one, and it is the part almost no competitor site does well.
Should we list the brands we install?
Yes. People search by brand, especially for servicing an existing unit, and certification for a brand is a genuine trust signal. It is also a straightforward way to rank for searches your competitors are not targeting.
What does it cost?
KES 25,000 covers a straightforward installation and servicing site. KES 45,000 is the better fit where you want separate domestic and commercial paths plus maintenance contract pages. Then from KES 3,000 a month.
