Build rather than design? Construction companies and contractors have their own pages.

From our own audit

What we found in your trade

Of 39 architectural practices we tested in Nairobi, 24 had no working website. Twelve had let a domain expire, which for a practice means a portfolio that was built, paid for, and is now simply unreachable.

24of the 39 architects we tested in Nairobi had no working website.
12had paid for a site and then let the domain expire. The link is dead right now.
7had no website at all — a phone number and a directory listing, nothing more.

These numbers come from the Nairobi Web Audit — 566 businesses tested in August 2026, method and limitations published in full. We don’t name the businesses.

Why it matters for architects

Clients choose on drawings, not descriptions

Nobody appoints an architect from a list of services. They look at what you have designed, whether it resembles what they want, and whether the thinking behind it makes sense. Only a portfolio does that.

The research period is long and silent

A client planning a house or a development looks at practices repeatedly over weeks, comparing, without contacting anyone. If you are not findable during that window you are not in the comparison at all.

Consultants and contractors check you too

Your site is read by more than clients. Other professionals verifying who you are before collaborating form their view from the same place.

What your site actually needs

Not a brochure. The specific things a customer in this trade looks for before they get in touch.

  • Projects presented as full case studies with drawings
  • The brief, the site constraint and the response
  • Residential, commercial and institutional split out
  • Registration and professional body membership
  • Large images that still load quickly on mobile

Prices are the same as everywhere else on this site — KES 25,000, 45,000 or 75,000 to build, then a small monthly amount that keeps it online. The domain is registered in your name, not ours.

Questions

Things people ask before they hire us

We get work by referral and repeat clients. Is a site necessary?

Referral opens the door; the portfolio decides. The person referred to you will look at your work before calling, and if there is nothing to look at they either ask for a PDF or quietly move on. A site removes that friction.

How much of a project should we publish?

Enough to show judgement — drawings, key images, the constraint and how it was answered. Where a client requires confidentiality we present the work without identifying them, or leave it out entirely. That is your call and we follow it.

Will drawings and renders slow the site down?

Not if handled properly. Images are resized and served in modern formats. A portfolio site can be image-heavy and still load fast; ours does.

What does it cost?

KES 45,000 for a practice site with a proper project gallery, KES 75,000 where projects are written up as full case studies with copy. Then from KES 5,000 a month.
